Rule Set 2026.3 · Express Entry Decision Suite

Canada Immigration Tools

Planning an Express Entry application involves two distinct stages: first verifying that you meet the statutory minimum requirements for at least one federal immigration program (CEC, FSW, or FST), and second maximizing your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score under the 1,270-point architecture. All calculators below run on our unified Rule Set 2026.3 engine.

Official Rule Version and Data Sources

All CRS calculators on this site operate on a single shared calculation engine powered by Rule Version 2026.3 (Rule ID: ircc-crs-2026-v3, effective 2026-11-03, last verified ) under the 1,270-point CRS architecture. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Express Entry program eligibility and a CRS score?

Program eligibility (CEC, FSW, or FST) is the mandatory entry ticket required to submit a valid profile into the Express Entry pool. Once you are in the pool, the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) ranks all eligible candidates on a 1,270-point scale to determine who receives an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

Why is the FSW 67-point calculator separate from the CRS calculator?

The Federal Skilled Worker 67/100 selection factor grid only determines whether you qualify for the FSW program to enter the pool. Your 67-point score is never added to your CRS score, and once in the pool, IRCC ranks you strictly by your CRS score out of 1,270.

Should married applicants use the With Spouse or Without Spouse CRS calculator?

If your spouse or common-law partner will immigrate with you to Canada (and is not already a Canadian citizen or permanent resident), IRCC scores your profile under the With-Spouse grid (530 Core max + 40 Spouse max). Use both calculators or the toggle to compare how your spouse’s language, ECA, and Canadian work points offset the 40-point Core difference.

Do all CRS tools on this page use the same 1,270-point rule set?

Yes. The Full CRS Calculator, CRS Score Improvement Calculator, CRS Calculator With Spouse, and CRS Calculator Without Spouse all share our single CRS Engine running Rule Set 2026.3 (Rule ID: ircc-crs-2026-v3, effective 2026-11-03).

Does a Provincial Nomination (PNP) require being in the Express Entry pool?

Enhanced PNP streams are linked to Express Entry and add 600 Additional Points to your CRS profile, virtually guaranteeing an ITA in the next PNP or general draw. Base PNP streams operate outside Express Entry through a direct provincial nomination and non-Express Entry federal permanent residence application.
