IELTS General Training Bracket Lookup Method
- Verify that your test report is for IELTS General Training (IELTS Academic is not accepted for Express Entry).
- Enter each half-band or whole-band score (0.0 to 9.0, step 0.5) for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
- Look up each skill in its specific IRCC bracket column—note that Listening requires 8.0 for CLB 9 and 8.5 for CLB 10, while Writing and Speaking require 7.0 for CLB 9 and 7.5 for CLB 10.
- Calculate per-skill CRS points (up to 34 points per skill single / 32 with accompanying spouse) and check whether all four skills meet the CLB 7 (6.0-6.0-6.0-6.0) or CLB 9 (8.0-7.0-7.0-7.0) threshold.

IELTS General Training vs IELTS Academic
IRCC strictly requires IELTS General Training for Express Entry programs (FSW, CEC, FST). IELTS Academic results cannot be converted to CLB for Express Entry profiles.
